Preparing your application

Once you have completed the steps in the Before You Apply section, it’s time to start preparing your application.

You will need to complete the application form for the funding scheme you’re applying to. You will also need to prepare supporting documents and URL links relevant to your application.

Break the process into steps

1. Download the application form

To start preparing your application, you’ll need to get the correct application form.

Log in to our funding portal, Online Services.

Select the ‘My applications’ tab and then click on ‘Make an application’.

You’ll need to confirm your details are up to date on our system and then select the relevant funding scheme from the dropdown menu.

You will then see an option to ‘Download application form’.

2. Open the application form in a compatible program

You need to use the desktop version of either Microsoft Word or OpenOffice Writer to complete the application form.

If you are using a Mac device to complete the application form on OpenOffice Writer, you will need to use a specific version of the program. The version of the program you need to use will depend on your operating system (OS).

3. Complete the application form

You must complete all required sections of the application form. If you don’t, your application will be ineligible and we won’t be able to assess it.

Each section of the application form has guidance to help you know what to include.

Allow plenty of time to complete each section to help avoid mistakes.

The application form has a special format so that we can extract information from it for assessment.

It is very important that you:

  • Type inside the grey boxes in the form
  • Do not delete the grey boxes or type outside of them

If you don’t follow this advice, your application form will not upload to our funding portal.

4. Prepare your supporting documents

You must include supporting documents with your application, in addition to your application form.

Supporting documents help the person assessing your application to get a clear understanding of your proposal.

To see exactly what supporting documents you need to submit, and how to submit them, check the guidelines for the funding scheme you are applying to.

We will only accept supporting documents that you upload in electronic format to the Online Services funding portal.

If you have documents that are not in electronic format, you should scan them and save them so that you can upload them.

5. Prepare your uploads or URL links

To provide us with samples of your work, you can either:

  • Upload them directly to Online Services, if the combined file size is less than 40 megabytes.
  • Use URL links (the full addresses where your material is hosted) to streaming platforms.
