Read Mór

Discover the joy of reading with our annual book gifting initiative!

Established in 2022, the Read Mór project was created to include people who may not be able to participate in Culture Night activities. It also supports Irish and Irish based authors and encourages us all to read for pleasure.

In partnership with the Irish Prison Service.

In its third edition, Read Mór gifted a curated list of 30 book titles from some of Ireland’s most beloved writers to all 13 prisons nationwide.

The list of books was developed in consultation with teaching staff from the Irish Prison Service, and offered a diverse selection of novels, short stories and poetry, reflecting the vibrant literary landscape of Ireland. Seven prisons also hosted events featuring readings and discussions with participating authors.

Patients were encouraged to share the joy of reading by re-gifting the book once they have read it.
